Daily Basketball Drills

This coach calls this “Daily Vitamins.” This is a great routine to follow:

Form shooting

  • One-hand follow-through shooting (5-10 makes, step back)

  • Two-hand form shooting from shot pocket up (5-10 makes, step back)

Dribbling

  • 2 ball dribbling and passing (to partner or against wall)

  • 2 ball dribble, pass, double cross, catch pass

  • 2 ball dribble, pass, double between-the-legs, catch

  • 2 ball dribble, pass, between-behind-the-back combo, catch

Finishing

  • Goofy finish (right-hand/right-foot jump or left-hand/left-foot) - Outside foot, outside hand - both sides

  • Dribble, between-the-legs, goofy finish to the middle of the key

  • The “waiter” - between-the-legs dribble to middle of the key, finger-roll

  • Euro-step to the middle of the lane

  • Euro-step to inside-hand finish

  • Crossover, euro-step to other side of the rim

  • Goofy-foot baseline finish, reverse lay-up

  • Reverse scoop lay-up

  • “Near side sneak” - inside hand quick finish

  • “Body fake” - drop the ball, body fake, euro-step
